Today's Tour
Yes, the city was named after Kit Carson, an American mountain man who explored the area between 1843 and 1844.
We'll be visiting the Nevada Railroad Museum that houses many fine Virginia & Truckee locomotives and railroad rolling stock. The last time we were here was 22 years ago at our 2000 convention.
We've been invited by the Carson City Railroad Association to visit their HO and N Scale layout in Mills Park.
They will be bringing some HO modules to our public show for everybody to enjoy.
They have an outdoor railroad that we can enjoy while we are having lunch in park pavilion.
Lunch will be provided by the local subway restaurant with the choice of Italian B.M.T. Ham & Cheese, Turkey or Vegetarian sandwiches.
We are going to provide one bus if you would like to visit Paul Martinovich's N Scale layout located a few miles outside of the park. We cannot have everybody visit him today because of space considerations. So it is first come first serve situation. If you want to go please, add that to your registration now.
